Tordo Geology

The 143 square kilometre Tordo permit lies about 150km east of Ouagadougou.  The previously unexplored Tordo permit covers a portion of the Fada N’gourma greenstone belt which consists of meta-tuff, meta-sediment and mafic metavolcanic.  A dilational fault splay is focused near the contact of the greenstone belt and enclosing granites.  Quartz float debris fields and a number of artisanal workings are associated with these structures.  Quartz veins are most numerous in the metasedimentary rocks in the centre of the permit displaying variable orientations including 070o, 110o, and 130o as exposed by trenching.  Mineralization consists of relatively narrow quartz veining and associated silicification.

Tordo Soil Geochemistry with Trenching

The Company has completed a soil grid and limited trenching program with results shown in the following figure.

The figure to the right shows 100m x 50m gridded soil values in ppb with highs to 4,080 ppb Au (4.08 gpt Au). Large northwest trending gold soil anomaly 1500m x 500m where limited trenching has been done. Labels on trenches show chip sampling values in trenches such as 8m grading 1.178 gpt Au and 70m grading 0.51 gpt Au. The Company plans to do follow-up trenching in advance of a preliminary drill program.
